Evanston Chamber of Commerce Committees
The Chamber of Commerce is a volunteer organization of business and professional men & women who have joined together for the purpose of promoting civic, commercial and economic progress in our community.
The Chamber accomplishes its Program of Action through committees comprised of volunteer members. Below is a brief description of activities the committees are involved in.
Education and Business:
- Electing Business and/or Business Person of the Quarter, Pat-on-the-Back, Mentor Award and Community Star Award.
- Sponsoring Candidate Forums.
Natural Resources, Industrial and Manufacturing:
- Sharing information of interest to area businesses.
- Being active on public policy and legislative issues.
- Instrumental in gathering business related information and focusing on current affairs.
Red Carpet:
- Welcoming new businesses to Evanston.
- Participating in Grand Openings and Ribbon Cuttings
Retail & Service:
- Addressing issues of concerns to retailers/coordinated a Customer Service Training Program through Lifelong Learning Center.
- Collecting, making and distributing “Calendar of Events” and “Top 10 Things to do in Evanston” to local business establishments.
