The Between Fences exhibit weaves the history of fences into the development of the United States.  It traces the impact of fencing from colonial days through the western range wars, the suburban picket fence, and today’s gated communities.  Between Fences invites you to consider a range of thought-provoking topics related to these commonplace features of our landscape.  Docent-guided tours of the exhibit will be available.

It is a nationally recognized bicycle stage race that begins in Kamas, UT and ends in Evanston, WY.  In 2008, the Evanston Cycling Club and the City of Evanston will host the 20th annual High Uintas Classic.  Internationally recognized and local competitors race “Over the Top” at Bald Mountain Pass 10,700’ into Evanston.  On Sunday morning a time trial is held at 7 a.m. at the Bus Barns in Evanston.  On Sunday afternoon, a criterium is held in downtown Evanston.  After the criterium an awards celebration is held in Historic Depot Square.

Annual New Years Dance (YOU!)

$3.00 (2 years of age and under are free)
Must be with a person over 18 if you are under the age of 11.
Come dance the old year out and the New Year in with YOU!  A drug and alcohol free family oriented annual dance event.  Music from every era will be played.  Have your picture taken with New Years themed back drop for a small fee.  After the dance walk a short distance to the downtown area to watch the fireworks show.
